Campaign Update: Indiegogo

In August, we released a series of articles introducing our organization and the mobile app development process. This month is even more exciting for us as we officially launched the fundraising phase of our campaign on Indiegogo! We've set a target of $5,000 and would like you to help us achieve our goal by December 4th, 2015. Please like, share and invest in our campaign so we can bring better mobile apps for nonprofits and education for future Deversers!

Boston College Fall 2015 Program

A new semester means a new Deverse program. This semester, we return to the campus of our App for Humanity Program, also our first official Deverse Program, at Boston College! We had a great success from this and of course, we only see it getting better from here. As usual, please help promote our program to your friends and peers! This is the schedule of our recruitment week:

Oct 9th Friday 5pm @ Fulton 160: Info session and mini app dev workshop
Learn about the program and get an introduction into iOS development (and of course, we never forget about our pizza and snacks)
Oct 14th Wednesday: Applications close and ten students will be chosen!
Oct 17th Saturday: First public lecture and team meeting
Official start of the program! Mandatory attendance from selected class of Deversers
Oct 18th and onwards: Program will follow a weekly schedule of workshops and team meetings

Another Successful Project: Stand with Congo

Over the last month, we created a proof of concept mobile iOS app for Stand with Congo, an organization whose purpose is to bring awareness and actions to the conflicts and violence in the Republic of the Congo. The proof of concept app provides easy ways to get involved such as, signing the petition, learning about the conflict, and of course sharing personalized support on social media through a #standwithcongo selfie filter. The app was part the organization's proposal to get funding from outside investors to make a fully developed app with a functional backend system, and was very well received!
